
Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Logistics Industry, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Zone Controller to join their dynamic team. Applicants must reside in or around the Cape Town area.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist couriers in establishing the most efficient route plans to optimise delivery times and routes.
- Coordinate with drivers, delivery teams, and customer service departments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Ensure all return checks are completed in accordance with company policies and procedures when couriers return from their assigned routes.
- Monitor zone performance and provide regular reports on operational metrics and KPIs.
- Assess and evaluate courier route planning and performance through ride-along coaching sessions.
- Develop and implement contingency plans to ensure operational continuity in the event of vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or other disruptions.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency and service levels.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum of 2 (Two) years’ experience within the courier or logistics industry (advantageous).
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and logistics industry best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
