
Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Warehousing and Logistics industry, seeks to appoint an experienced Production Coordinator to join their dynamic team. The Production Coordinator will be responsible to ensure that all instructions are followed by plant workers for quality assurance. Responsible for the effective management and controlling of all stock and production movements.
Applicants must reside in and around the Brackenfell area.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
The Production Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality production operations on site. This includes supervising staff, maintaining product quality standards, coordinating sampling processes, and ensuring compliance with all safety and operational procedures.
Main Duties
- Train and supervise all plant operators and labourers, including maintaining attendance and training records.
- Enforce strict PPE and safety requirements for all onsite employees.
- Coordinate daily production activities, including confirming product types, bag quantities and proper labelling.
- Conduct visual inspections of blended product to identify abnormalities (e.g., wet product, contamination, incorrect raw materials).
- Oversee sample collection for each batch, ensure proper labelling, storage, and retention for 12 (Twelve) months.
- Manage QC sampling, Blender Calibration Control sampling and ensure all samples are logged, stored, and sent to the lab when required.
- Record and monitor bag weights across all bag sizes, ensuring compliance with weight tolerances and reporting deviations immediately.
- Ensure pre‑weighing and QC scales are calibrated according to schedule.
- Verify correct packing materials and labels are used at all times.
- Assist in blender calibration, maintain calibration records and ensure deviations remain within acceptable limits.
- Oversee raw material quality checks, including particle size, moisture content and nutrient‑spec adherence.
- Ensure plant operators are trained and competent, with all training documented.
- Handle shift handovers, ensuring all permit updates, production status, maintenance issues and process deviations are communicated.
- Maintain discipline and productivity on shift, ensuring employees follow break times, housekeeping rules and safety procedures.
- Report injuries, incidents, equipment breakdowns, or deviations to the Site Coordinator immediately.
- Manage housekeeping and plant cleaning during breakdowns or downtime.
- When production is low, ensure all employees remain occupied with relevant secondary tasks.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- At least 3 (Three) years’ experience within inventory, production management and record keeping.
- Sound experience in people management within a production environment.
- Experienced at representing the Employer with Customers.
- Successful completion of the plant`s operating manual.
- 90 (Ninety) % pass rate of the Client’s written exam.
Package & Remuneration
