Introduction
Our Client, a leader in the Retail and Wholesale Industry, seeks to employ a High Level Picker to join their dynamic team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for accurately picking, storing, and replenishing stock, operating high-level picking equipment, and ensuring inventory accuracy within a fast-paced retail and wholesale environment. He or she will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, meeting productivity targets, and upholding the highest standards of safety and housekeeping.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Transport pallets safely to designated storage locations and ensure stock is stored neatly and securely in the allocated bin locations.
- Operate a high-level order picking machine in accordance with safety procedures, including the correct use of a safety harness and other required personal protective equipment.
- Assist with stock replenishment activities and perform cycle counts to support inventory accuracy when required.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring work areas remain clean, organised, and free from hazards at all times.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and ensure the order picking machine is kept clean, well-maintained, and free from damage. Report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Receive and store incoming stock, verify quantities against documentation, conduct inventory checks, and report any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged items.
- Adhere to inventory control and stock-tracking procedures to ensure accurate stock records and effective warehouse operations.
- Achieve required productivity targets while maintaining a high level of accuracy when picking and handling stock.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of picked, replenished, and dispatched orders in accordance with company procedures.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, warehouse standards, and operational procedures to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Previous experience operating a high-level order picker or working in a warehouse, retail, or wholesale distribution environment will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Valid High-Level Order Picker and or Forklift Operator Licence or certification required.
- Strong numerical skills with the ability to count, verify, and record stock accurately.
- Good understanding of warehouse safety procedures, inventory control principles, and stock-handling practices.
- Physically fit and capable of working at heights and performing manual handling tasks where required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work independently when necessary.
