Introduction
One of our Clients, a leader in the Manufacturing Industry, is seeking to appoint a Maintenance Technician with experience in the Milling and Packaging industry, to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of the milling and packaging machinery. Applicants must reside in and around the Durban, Umbilo area.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish, monitor, and carry out preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment and grounds.
- Carpentry, electrical, painting, mechanical and plumbing maintenance and repairs, applying paint and other finishes, repairing drywall, disassembling and reassembling equipment, replacing sinks and toilets, and applying finishing material such as linoleum.
- Perform general maintenance of all areas of the Client site;
- Repair structures; repair furniture and equipment; install window glass; repair roofs, floors, doors, locks, and related items.
- Paint building interiors and exteriors, pours and finishes concrete.
- Conducting all types of civil work.
- Load and off-load building materials.
- Operate large powered machinery and equipment (e.g., saws, drills, grinders, blowtorches, pressure cleaners, jackhammers).
- Operate construction-related equipment (e.g., driving trucks, forklifts, and or manlifts).
- Mixing cement, sand, and water.
- Setting, pouring, levelling, and forming concrete.
- Control traffic passing near work areas by directing with signs, barricades, and traffic cones.
- Dig ditches or trenches using shovels, picks, and jackhammers.
- Attending to all plumbing requirements of the Client and other sites as may be required.
- Assisting the Maintenance department with whatever may be required to ensure that maintenance work is attend to for the site.
- Operation of machinery where such skills is required.
- Performing other tasks related to the maintenance at the Client site not specifically mentioned above.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Semi- skilled Millwright.
- 3 (Three) to 5 (Five) years of experience within the Milling and Packaging industry.
- Mechanical and electrical skills.
- Problem-solving abilities.
Package & Remuneration
Negotiable.
